We will be performing an update to our servers. The revamp to our servers will bring them geographically closer to our customer base and should result in overall faster websites. The maintenance window will start at 5pm on Friday and run until 12 noon on Sunday. We hope that a weekend transfer will reduce the impact to our customer base. We do not think it will take this long, however; during the update we will also be swapping IP addresses around. This may cause some delays due to the internet processing the visibility of these IP changes.
We advise that you, if possible,
Ask customers to abstain from ordering from your website during this window.
Avoid using emails on your domain, unless you use a 3rd party provider I.e. office 365 or Gmail.
Petersweb apologizes for any inconvenience that this period of maintenance causes you and your customer base. Rest assured; we will work as quickly as possible to return services to normal as quickly as possible. If you have any concerns regarding weekend traffic, there is a mitigative technique that can speed this transfer process up considerably. This involves using utilizing Cloudflare settings to enable a faster visibility processing for the new IP. Petersweb is available to assist any of our customers who wish to follow with this preemptive technique between now and the maintenance period on Friday.
